Big Top’s Fabric Structures – the Ideal Equipment and Storage Solution for the Oil & Gas Industry
Big Top’s fabric structures are regularly used by companies in the oil and gas industry as storage facilities for materials and equipment, and when you consider the benefits, it’s easy to see why. First, our shelters have a modular design which allows us to build them to nearly any size. There are no internal guy wires or support columns taking up space in the interior, so every square inch of space can be used. Some other features that oil and gas companies rely on include:
Versatility
Our tension structures do not require a construction crew for assembly, and they can be anchored to nearly any foundation, making them ideal for any environment. Oftentimes, oil and gas production is conducted on a leased parcel of land, where pouring a concrete foundation is not feasible. Our buildings can be erected onsite, saving the time involved with having to drive back to headquarters to perform maintenance or storage. They can also be moved intact using rails or a crane, and can be disassembled and packed for transport if your operations relocate.
Weather Protection
The fabric roof of your storage shelter will not only protect your equipment and materials from wind, rain, and snow, but also from sun exposure – it blocks 99.95 percent of harmful UV-A and UV-B radiation, keeping your materials and staff safe and prolonging the lifespan of your equipment’s electronics. We can add optional engineering for heavy wind and snow loads, as well as lightning protection. Additionally, our fabric roofs are NFPA701 flame-retardant.
Climate Control and Other Accessories
The UV-protective roof helps to maintain a comfortable interior temperature that is 15 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, on average, but if your materials and equipment require a climate-controlled environment, we can install insulation and an HVAC system. There are also numerous other accessories, such as doors and flooring, that we can include with your design, if needed.
