Job-sites in the south can present extreme conditions, with brutal heat and humidity that can impact worker health, safety, and productivity. As the largest construction and engineering company and the fourth-largest privately owned company in the United States, Bechtel was managing hundreds of workers on-site each day. However, they lacked a structure large enough to accommodate essential needs such as safety meetings, break times, and meal periods. Without a centralized, weather-protected space, maintaining efficiency, communication, and workforce wellbeing in the harsh gulf coast environment became increasingly difficult.
